On the Road with ReaXium: Powering School Transportation Through Hands-On Training

Every summer, as students enjoy their final weeks of vacation, transportation departments across Florida ramp up for the critical task of preparing for a new school year. For ReaXium, this season represents more than just system readiness—it’s a time to connect, collaborate, and ensure the teams behind the wheel are empowered to succeed.

This year, our In-Service Road Trip took us on a journey across five key Florida School Districts, including Osceola, Polk, Brevard, and Martin counties, along with several charter schools. Our mission? Deliver tailored, hands-on training that helps transportation staff fully harness the power of ReaXium’s technology—and introduce some exciting new features designed with their feedback in mind.

Starting in Osceola and Ending in Brevard: A Journey of Empowerment

We kicked off the trip in Osceola County, where we welcomed over 600 team members. From there, we moved to Polk County—home to nearly 700 drivers and transportation staff—and then to Martin County, where we worked with a dedicated team of 100. Charter schools followed, and we wrapped up in Brevard, training another 500 professionals.

Every district was unique, yet the goal was the same: ensure every driver, attendant, and supervisor walked away confident and ready for the new year.

From Refresher to Innovation

Each visit followed a two-part format. The first part focused on refreshing core features of the ReaXium School Bus solution—daily inspections, student boarding processes, and route visibility. The second part introduced newly released functionalities, built in direct response to user feedback gathered throughout the previous school year.

One of the most exciting additions was the Driver Summary Dashboard—a performance-focused tool designed specifically for the drivers. It offers them a detailed view of how many trips they’ve completed, inspections they’ve conducted, and hours worked. Simple, yet powerful, this tool gives drivers a clear picture of their day-to-day performance and helps supervisors make data-driven decisions based on real-time operations.

We also walked teams through updates to the execution of trips allowing them to run up to three at the same time, creating seating charts tools, improvements in route display for substitute drivers, and upgrades to the bus inspection workflow—all aimed at making daily operations smoother and more transparent.

Real Practice, Real Results

These sessions weren’t lectures—they were hands-on experiences. Drivers used tablets loaded with real data to simulate routes, conduct inspections, and explore their new dashboards. The energy in the room was electric. Attendees were excited to see their suggestions turned into reality and appreciated that training wasn’t limited to theory.

“The training was extremely complete and more detailed than expected,” one participant shared. “I loved that it wasn’t just a demo—it was real practice.”

In many districts, teams even used the sessions as part of their dry runs, actively preparing for the school year with live tools in hand.

A Partnership Built on Trust

For many of these districts, this wasn’t their first time working with ReaXium. Martin County has been a partner since 2019, Brevard since 2023, Polk since early 2024, and Osceola officially launched with us this year. Each district has different needs, but what they all share is a commitment to improving school transportation—and a technology partner who shares that vision.

Our team—including Maria Riquezes, Horelyz Vasquez, and Yolima Carvajalz all Senior Project Leaders—was on-site at every training session. More than facilitators, they acted as partners—answering questions, customizing solutions, and listening carefully to each team’s feedback.

Yolima summed it up best:

“It’s a pleasure to work with school districts that care deeply about safety, operations, and delivering excellent service to their communities. Our role is to be a true partner—to support, to improve, and to evolve with them.”

What’s Next?

The ReaXium team isn’t done yet. As we move into the school year, we’ll continue offering support through refresher sessions, onboarding for new hires, and live assistance whenever needed.

The road trip may have ended, but our commitment to Florida’s school transportation professionals continues—day in and day out.
